Tour descripton

If you can’t spend more days in the beautiful Danube Delta, we invite you to join the group on this complex route. A one-day tour where you can visit the three most popular destinations, namely Mila 23 Village, Letea Village, and Sulina City. From Tulcea Port, we will navigate through Channel 36, Sireasa Channel, nearby (strictly protected area) Nebunu Lake, Fortuna Lake to Mila 23 Village.

We will navigate through the lake and channels area where you can encounter a variety of birds, the most interesting being pelicans, herons, spoonbills, and storks, and then we will have a first rest stop in Mila 23 Village. From Mila 23 Village, we continue the boat tour through the lake and channels area, such as Eracle Channel, Trei Iezere Lake, and Bogdaproste Lake to Dunarea Veche Channel and the Crisan Village.

Once here, we make a rest stop where, at the home of authorized locals as a local gastronomic point, you can enjoy a culinary experience specific to the area. After the meal, we head towards Letea Village following the Dunarea Veche Channel and Magearu Channel, where we will navigate to Letea Village, near which is the famous Letea Forest that shelters the only wild horses in Europe.

Once we reach the village, you have time to visit the village, but you can also opt for a tour of the Letea Forest, organized by the locals. The forest is about 7 kilometres away from the village, and the locals provide carts or specially adapted cars for the ride. Letea Forest is a strictly protected area, the only forest on the sand in Eastern Europe.

The walk in the forest takes about 20-30 minutes (we walk to the sand dunes and back). After the walk in the forest and leaving Letea Village behind, we navigate through the Sidor Channel, after which we enter the Barbosu Channel, which connects with Sulina Branch and Sulina Port. The last rest stop is in Sulina City, where you have time to visit the town, the maritime cemetery is famous for the graves of pirates, and if time allows, you can even go to the Sulina beach, known for its exceptionally fine sand.

In Sulina, you can opt for a trip on the Sulina Branch to the place where the Danube flows into the Black Sea, where you can admire the Old Lighthouse, the New Lighthouse, the wreck of the Turgut S ship, and the entrance to Musura Bay. On clear days, lucky ones can see dolphins swimming harmoniously in the Black Sea.

After a day full of diverse landscapes, we leave behind Sulina City and return to Tulcea Port on the Sulina Branch, a route that passes by the villages Crisan, Gorgova, Maliuc, Vulturu, and Partizani. We then enter the Tulcea Branch where you reach Tulcea Port after approximately 10 hours, and we end the program.
